Life At Sea is Not All Work |
|
Military Sealift Command has serious endeavors to undertake on a day-in-day-out basis. However, that does not mean while underway our CIVMARs do not have time to relax, laugh and take break from the daily grind.
Each ship offers morale and welfare programs that help provide entertainment for the CIVMARs in their down time. This includes hosting activities open for all CIVMARs to participate in scheduled crew events, offering DVD and video games for use in the lounge or personal quarters or even loaning out fishing equipment to get in some deep
sea fishing off the side of the vessel.
In addition, most ships have a small space for work out facilities that typically include weight machines and cardiovascular equipment. For those who are looking to catch up on reading (whether educational or for pleasure) all ships have libraries, which contain a wide-variety of novels and training manuals available for CIVMARs to check out.
