The Medical Services Officer performs a variety of administrative, patient care, and department head functions pertaining to the complete operation of a shipboard medical department. This includes, but is not limited to, medical care at the level equivalent to an independent duty hospital corpsman, fiscal and supply, crew training, pest control, sanitation, occupational health and preventive medicine, SAMS database entries.
